Echoes of the Future An Afrofuturist Gala Celebration | Sunday, September 14 | 4:30–9:00 PM | Cleveland City Hall


Step into a night of imagination, celebration, and Black brilliance at Cleveland City Hall for Echoes of the Future, an immersive Afrofuturist gala honoring the beauty and power of Black birth.

This special evening will unveil Echoes of the Future: An Afrofuturist Birthscape a bold and visionary art exhibition featuring original works by commissioned artists from the All Our Babies project. Through visual art, sound, movement, and storytelling, this gallery experience honors our ancestral legacy, uplifts our present, and dares to imagine liberated Black birthing futures.

🎭 What to Expect:

This one-night-only gala is more than an opening, it’s a celebration of style, story, and sacred presence. Featuring live performances by:

  • Mourning [A] BLKstar – Afrofuturist soul and sonic storytelling

  • Humble G Tha Fiddla – Violin and hip-hop fusion

  • Maumin Collective – Jazz hip hop ensemble and improvisational sound

  • Mojuba! Dance Collective – Storytelling through movement and tradition

  • Twelve Literary Arts – Spoken word, interludes, and poetic offerings

  • DJ KenStarr – Dance party and joyful close to the night

  • Jacob DSA-CSA Collaborative Choir - Soulful and spiritual sounds

  • More to be announced!

👗 Afrofuture Fashion Show: Style, Story & The Sacred

Experience the debut of the Afrofuture Mama Look Book with a stunning fashion show by local designers—centering the strength, grace, and sacred expression of Black motherhood.

🎟️ Free & Open to the Public

While this is a free event, seating is limited. Early arrival is encouraged.

Dress Code: Afrofuture Finest

Come dressed in your Afrocentric or Afrofuturist best regal, radiant, and rooted in legacy with limitless imagination.


Adults-Only Space

 This is an adults-only event. To maintain the integrity of the healing, storytelling, and art spaces, we kindly ask that all attendees be 18 and older.


Additional QuestsDue to capacity limits at City Hall and overwhelming interest in the event, we are not able to accommodate plus ones at this time. We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure that everyone who’s registered has the best experience possible.


Arrival and Parking

  1. City Hall Parking Lot Upper Deck (Enter off Lakeside Ave)

  2. Enter through front entrance (Lakeside)

  3. Additional Parking at metered spots on Lakeside, 9th Street and other surrounding streets


ADA Accessibility

If you are unable to walk the stairs in front of City Hall, you will be able to enter the building from the back, there is an elevator that will take you down to the back main entrance of City Hall.  You will need to go through metal detectors and provide a government issued ID to enter there.
