Each piece reflects a journey toward freedom—not just from the literal bondage of slavery, but from the inherited trauma, imposed limitations, and systemic erasure that continue to affect Black bodies and minds. Through layered symbolism, rich textures, and Afrocentric imagery, I invite the viewer to witness moments of healing, remembrance, resistance, and joy. My use of color, form, and pattern is deeply intentional, evoking both ancestral memory and future possibility.

All Our Babies Featured on News 5 Cleveland for First Activation Launch

All Our Babies: Birthing in the Afrofuture was recently highlighted by News 5 Cleveland as we launched our first activation event, Yesterday, We Dreamed of Tomorrow.

This powerful community event, held at the Cleveland Clinic Langston Hughes Community Health & Education Center, brought together families, artists, birth workers, and advocates to reimagine Black maternal health through the lens of Afrofuturism. The coverage emphasizes our mission to promote health equity, cultural celebration, and wellness for Black mothers and families in Cleveland.

The initiative is supported by the City of Cleveland’s Transformative Arts Fund, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland City Council, and the Cleveland Department of Public Health.

We’re honored to have this recognition and energized to continue our journey toward a future where Black families thrive.
